Received a letter today informing me that Ford is providing a $100 credit for the 2021-22 SD with the 7.3 because the engine overstated the horsepower by 15 and RPM by 150. It's only good for the original purchaser. Anyone else received this? Think it might be negotiable? Cheers
'22 F350 here. I scanned the code, registered, and now apparently (in 4-6 weeks) receiving a check for $100.
It is a bit confusing as the letter includes my VIN, however "Pickup" is not included in the vehicles listed, i.e. only Chassis Cab, Motor home, Step Vans, Medium duty....
IIRC the 7.3L for those models was slightly detuned as compared to the pickup version. Weird!
I'm pretty sure your 22 F-350 is included in the rebate, my 22 F-250 was. If you got the letter try plugging in your info on the web site mentioned.
In my haste I misread the letter. I assumed it was just a $100 credit if one were buying a new truck. So I shredded the letter. I knew that I'd never purchased a cab/chassis or motorhome model.
But there is a link on the site where one can input your VIN for lost PIN. So I did that. Supposedly another will come by mail if the VIN is eligible.
I have a 2021 E450 cutaway (RV) and I also received that letter. $300. I received the check and deposited it. It has just been returned, reason "REFER TO MAKER".
I tried calling Ford, office closed. Went to Owner.ford.com. I chatted with a person who gave me a telephone # to call 800-444-331. This is the motorhome CAC. She referred me to another number which is the number for recalls. They don't have this Special Field Action 22L03 in their database. Went back to the Motorhome CAC. Referred bac to Owner.ford.com. Right back where I started. You could probably here me scream.
The MY 2023's have a redesigned intake and 87mm throttle body compared to the 2020-2022 80mm. I wonder if this gets the engine back up to the reported 430hp...
