I’m sure this has been covered before but I am thinking about updating my mirrors to the 08 style my question is my truck has factory power mirrors(glass adjust) I was wondering if there is a way to do it to make it plug and play also what is a decent aftermarket brand to use? I have found these
wondering if anyone has used these
Like everything anymore, they all vary by brand (nearly always manufactured overseas) but they should come with an adapter, read the descriptions super carefully. Things like heat and turn signals have to be added in to the wiring harnesses since they didn't come that way from the factory.
There are multiple write ups and stickies on adding them telling you what pins you'll need to buy to add to the harness, and what color wires to tap into. Even the plugs for the power mirror adjustments are different from 99-03 so some slight wiring work is to be expected if you want all the functionality offered
I have a set of the AERDM brand mirrors that have been on my F350 for a couple of years now. I don't think they make this style anymore, but they are the 08 style mirror with the 17+ style side lights which includes the working lights option...those light everything up such that I can see to the side and beyond...along with downward courtesy puddle lights. The big mirrors were really tight with no vibration in the beginning, but did loosen up just a little though it's not bad. I've thought about another set of there 17+ style for the wife's Excursion, but I don't like the side clearance indicators...which would take alot to make functional...and other things that take up real estate in the big mirror surface. It's not that hard or complicated to get the other basic options hooked up and operational even if your truck doesn't have it...like the running turn signal lights, heaters, etc.
