Isn't there a sensor on the end of the drivers side fuel rail also? That would have metal debris on it as well but pulling the MPROP or FCA fuel metering valve on top of the CP4 like stated will show whether you need a fuel system or not...

The port on top of the CP4 will have metal in there also.

There is a pressure regulator that might be easier to access without tearing off the intake. It doesn't use a screen though so would be more difficult to determine if metal did get through the flow regulator. Flush it out on white shop towels will help.

I spoke with RCD today on fuel contamination and the gentleman I spoke advised that it's basically a non issue. The lifters in their CPX are pinned correctly so there is no failure from contaminated fuel from water or just trash. EVEN IF the pump finds a way to fail, you wont have to replace the fuel system. Just slap a replacement pump in and you're good to go. 2 year/no questions asked warranty.

Should you get contaminated fuel, it's just a matter of draining the contaminated fuel out of the tank, changing fuel filters, filling up with good fuel, and you're on your way again.

I take it the CPX also uses a separate fuel feed to the pump heads and not fed via the crankcase like the CP4? Thats the CP4 Achilles heel.

Wonder if there is any value for a used CP4 that had zero issues before removing it? I have one if so.
