And you just found out why I dont like 1 wire ALT's
The other is it gets it feed back from the ALT and not the battery where it need to.
By the time you find this out you have a dead battery.
Now some have this issue and others dont and no one knows why?
How high did you bring the RPM up before checking it was not charging?
Some need to be brought up above 2000 RPM and maybe 2500 RPM

What model 1-wire exactly? There are lots of available units out there. Some of them are GM based alternators and others are Ford.
Just curious which one you have.
And as was said, did you check for voltage after revving the engine up?
Have you driven it much yet?
Presumably you are checking the voltage at the battery terminal with a handheld meter. Correct?
