Differences Between 5.4 2V, and 5.4 CNG
Hello,
I have a 2003 Expedition with a 5.4 engine that has 350K on it, and is needing replacement.
I see on Ebay there is a low mileage 5.4 CNG engine for sale, out of a 2010 E350 van. Will this engine work in my Expedition, if I keep all the existing Expedition wiring, computer, intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors, etc?
Basically, I think the "long block" from that E350 CNG is suitable for my 2003 Expedition, but I would like other opinions.

I wouldn't chance it without some factory or first hand inspection to see that the long block was in fact the same. Compression ratio might be different.
People have been on here trying to convert a CNG back to gas and it's a no-go. Way too much stuff is different in the vehicle. I don't think anyone got to the actual engine and how it ran on gas.
FWIW, but I don't imagine a 5.4 gas motor is so rare that you have to be the one to search out the differences at your own time and expense.
