Steering problem please help!

I have a 2007 F250 6.0. I redid my entire front end in April because u-joints were bad and figured while I’m in that deep just replace everything. So ball joints, tie rods, u-joints. Everything I removed to get the u-joints out got replaced. I’m still stuck with a steering issue. Intermittently when I turn right it’s like it’s binding or hanging up on something. Had a shop look at it and they were stumped. Couldn’t see anything wrong because everything was pretty much new. However when I have my hubs set to auto and I get under the truck and spin the front drive line it’s still turning the axle shafts. So I spun the axle shafts by hand on both sides and weren’t hanging up, jacked up front end and can spin tires both directions with no hang up. So I’m wondering if it could be my transfer case, drive line u-joints or could it be the gears in the axle? I figured the Dana 60 is so durable that it couldn’t be the issue but I’m stumped. Please help me!

The front d/s will always turn at least one shaft. There's no disconnect between the ring gear and the pinion.

Your areas for engagement/disengagement are 1) in the transfer case and 2) at the wheels via lockouts aka locking hubs. Everything BETWEEN those points is always connected.

Anyway, I'd suspect your steering box since you've pretty much ruled out everything else.

Shouldnt it be easy to rotate the front shaft when hubs are in auto? I can get about 180 deg into the turn and then it hangs up and I have to use some elbow grease to get it to continue to rotate.
