Camera bags

I'm in need of a new camera bag. The one I have now only holds one camera and a few other things. It's uncomfortable and is just a big old pain in the rear when it comes to walking or trying to retrieve things when it's on the shoulder. It also doesn't have any dividers, allowing my equipment to bump (not good). The only thing I really like about it is that it sets perfectly on the floor of the '86, right below the shifter.

Since I'm planning on doing some travelling around the state next summer, I'd like to have something that will allow me to have my equipment with me at most times, while still being comfortable. I've been eyeing Tamrac brand backpacks, but the prices around here are a bit steep. Wondering what you use for a camera bag. Just looking for suggestions and experiences. Thanks.

Usual equipment I carry:

2 SLR's
5 lenses
flash
point and shoot
mono pod
tripod
film
some misc.

I don't care to mess with Ebay. Too risky for my money. But hey, that's just me.

I use a fanny pack for my digital. I can carry my camera and an extra couple of cards in the front compartment. Extra batteries, cables, and the all important instruction manual fit in the rear with room to spare. There are a couple of other pockets that don't get used much but would hold thin items. It is all there in front of me or I can slip it to the side or rear depending on what I am doing.

Total cost $6

I highly reccomend LowePro. I have two of their bags and love'em to death. They are also easily expandable. IE you can add lens cases to them and they velcro and strap onto the main bags on some models. For good prices on anything photo or AV related I also highly reccomend www.bhphoto.com. Some of the best prices around and they are very speedy when it comes to shipping. If nothing else, it's a great site to research products because they have EVERYTHING. Hope this helps.

I also use a Lowepro fannypack (Orion 1). It's a little large for a fannypack, but it's not like it's really oversized either. Perfect for my camera/lenses and water bottle/munchies. I can even strap a small tripod with the attached tiedown underneath it.

Camera Bags

I use several, LowePro are excellent as are Tamron. My favorite travel bag is made by Coast Mountain 16"X 6"X 8" Cordura Outer with velour inner. Insulated against cold or heat with 6 adjustable partitions that affix with velcro. This bag is adequite for my Pentax Z50, Sanyo Digital Video, Yashica AF & Kodak DX plus all of the peripherals. It also has 3 outside zipped pockets for Passports, Visas or Press ID's. Best thing about this unit is the price $37.50 Cdn for members. I think membership cost was $1.00.
