What are opinions on injector upgrades over stock rebuilds? My 7.3 is stock at 360,000 miles and needs injector cups and atleast 2 injectors and I figure a new/rebuilt set is worth it. Stock rebuilds would suit me fine, but if there’s a reasonable upgrade, I’d like to consider it. The truck is an F-250 daily driver that pulls a utility tractor, hay and livestock fairly occasionally. It won’t ever be a hot rod. Just wondering what you’ve had experience with.
Any upgrade is going to require a chip and "custom" tuning, just so you're aware. They will likely be a little noisier also. Not obnoxious but some people notice. All that said for a healthy kick in the pants that'll put a smile on your face without a laundry list of supporting mods to back them up, it's hard to beat a set of 160/30's. Though if you think you might want some room to grow I'd suggest going straight to hybrids. What are they 205/80's I think is a popular choice.
Shoot, if he is happy with stock, Just a Hydra would put a smile on his face...but I would lean towards 160/30 in his particular case as he's mostly towing heavy loads. that would give him max potential towing power. Otherwise yeah, 200/30's 205/30's
in addition to what's been said, a set of gauges would also be needed
You are the only one who knows what is "reasonable" and what is not.
For the longest time, I was dead set on 160/0 injectors and a good turbo. I installed a good turbo and use my PHP 65 HP performance (ZF6 transmission) and now am sticking with my 266,000 mile OEM injectors until they die, then replacing them with OEM injectors. I do just fine towing our 5th wheel wherever we want to go including 9,000 feet of elevation in WY holding speed going up a grade. As a matter of fact, I would NOT install hybrid or single shot injectors in my truck even if they were the same price as OEM AD injectors. It is not where my goals sit for my use of the truck, which is a tow pig for our 5th wheel.
When you change/upgrade one thing, there is often a domino effect that takes place. Figure out what your goal is and stick to it, whatever way that may be to achieve it.

That might be the wisest thing for me to consider.
