Found an original FoMoCo ignition lock for the truck (1961 F250), but it has no key. I need to find original Ford key blanks for it. Being kinda new to Ford, I'm unsure of what year range these keys fit. Maybe 1960-65?
So I happened to think that when I go to a locksmith I may as well get the door key made. I don't even know if they are suppose to be keyed the same.
Are the ignition and door keys different? Anyone know the old Ford part number(s)?
Well, though I had looked and looked before I found the answer right after I posted the questions. Was going to delete but apparently I can't. So I'll answer my own questions.
The ignition and door keys are the same, part #B9A-3685-A. Probably changed, but this is the only number I found.
So, Mr. Locksmith will be able to match the ignition key cut to the door locks.
Unless the ignition lock came with your truck, it will likely use a different key than your door. Maybe a locksmith can re-key the ignition to your door?
I'm not sure if you really are looking for OEM ignition cylinder and key or not. The keys and cylinders are plentiful, as lots of Fords in that era used them.
I got a replacement ignition cylinder a few years back at O'Reilly, but most places care them. The cylinders slide in to replace the one you have. Now, my doors and ignition don't match. I don't usually lock my doors anyway, but that's kinda how I roll.
I probably should have gotten the whole set of Ignition and doors with the same key. Dennis Carpenter and lots of others carry it with this part number: C3AZ-6222050-B
Good luck
