Is there an easy way to tell if your truck has adaptive steering?
I need a new steering pump and Ford wants $1200, nothing available aftermarket. I can get some at the wreckers but they are all without adaptive stwering.
Thanks.
Was it even available with XLT? Anyway, when looking at the steering wheel there is a bulge below the horn pad that isn't there without adaptive steering. I didn't think the power steering pump was any different. Maybe they are referring to the electronic power steering assist?
Looking back at the order guide Adaptive steering wasn't available on XLT trim.
Rockauto lists 2 motorcraft pumps and I searched but neither mention anything about adaptive steering or assisted anything. The steering gear on the other hand looks wheelbase and options specific.

Got the part number off it and it's different. Mine is HC3C-3A696-BB
Thanks though. Every wrecker wants to know if it has adaptive steering.

Now you can tell them no, you do not have adaptive steering. That part# shows up on Fordparts.com as being for a 17-21 6.2l in one section and says 2020-22 w/6.2l elsewhere.
Get your window sticker with the vin number click here then input vin at end of address and it'll tell you if you have it. I had it on my 2019 F350 and it showed in the sticker as an option.
