Today I tried to change out the rotors on my 92 Exp with Auto locking hubs. Got everything off fine but I can't seem to get the locking cam assembly back on. I know that they are spring loaded. Is there some kind of trick to this. Changing rotors should be this hard.
Also, I figured while I had the front wheels off I might as well change the shocks. I torqued the bottom mount bolt and it sheared off. I called Ford and they said that I had to purchase the entire lower radius arm. Is this true or can I just replace the bolt?
It's been a while (converted to manual hubs a couple of years ago), but if I remember right, it's simply a matter of forcing it to slide over the bearing locknut. If I remember right, it wasn't easy because that cam fits real tight over the locknut.
I worked at it for an hour. Tried removing the retaining springs and then putting them back on after the cam was on, but couldn't get them over the cam. Thanks for the reply.
