Hey guys, I am getting my truck ready for inspection after doing a ton of restoration work and realized my back up lights aren’t working, I do recall them working in the past but not sure when exactly they stopped working, everything else in my truck works great, so this is a nuisance, I recently replaced my steering column but I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it or not, any help would be appreciated!
Bulbs are good, I don’t really have a trailer plug that I know of, they guy I bought it from wired a plug for a fifth wheel into the bed so I’m not sure where the normal plug would be, the sensor is plugged into my tranny, I pulled it out and checked it to see if anything was wrong but it was good
I will have to take a look at that, if that isn’t the issue, is there anything else it could be? Could it have anything to do with me swapping my column out or no?
I actually found the problem, or what I believe to be the problem, I took off and tested the MLPS (switch on side of transmission that activates reverse lights) and when I tested the corresponding posts they came back with an open line, so I think something may have shorted out inside the switch, I ordered a new one so hopefully that will fix the issue
Okay guys, I replaced that switch finally and didn’t fix the problem, then I replaced and rewired the plug going into the neutral safety switch and that also didn’t work, I’m still trying to think about what else it could be, unless there would be a break in a wire somewhere or something is disconnected but I don’t know if you guys have any other suggestions or ideas?
