wanted something besides Ford Stock for my DRW. Others around here are running $3-500. Picked some universal mud flaps off eBay, cut them to match Ford's and modified to match King Ranch
I like the plain Jane of the Duraflaps on my duellies and they've held for many miles. In this thread from the past shows a comparison of when put on my new '08' and at 289,000 miles.

I like the DYI approach.
What was your front solution?
Thanks for all the first hand experience. Will be working on small winter projects and this would be a nice one to work on.
With the numerous no drill options. I could work a cheap simple deal and see how it works and looks, if it is horrible take off and not show pictures and redo it.
What about height from ground and rigid vs flexible? If you bottom out or snag a rigid there seems like a risk to damage the plastic DRW flare, snag a flexible with a tire and rip up the flare? Any of you all have any confirmed issues of mud flap damage a truck. .
I know overthinking everything. A new expensive complicated truck of an unknown brand is worth a slow thinking approach and listening to others.
I have Weather Tech. My only complaints are:
-The flap's inside mounting tab is rather large and looks like it can trap a bit of debris behind it.
- On my SRW, the rear flaps are not centered in line with the rear tires, which annoys me.
Otherwise the flaps are a must have if you care to keep running boards clean and not track mud in your cab.

You're not overthinking, you're just smart. I thought about ripping the dually fender off if I snagged a flap, so I fabbed brackets that mount to the truck frame. My flaps are completely independent of the body, front and rear.
I've already ripped the front flap off backing up while offroading. Gatorback customer service is excellent, I explained it was my fault and they still sent me a new flap, postage covered as well.
