Hey guys, need a little help figuring out why my buddy cannot get his trailer tpms trained. He has a ‘23 F-350. 5th wheel is a 2015 Endurance toy hauler. He does have steel belted 14 ply tires on his trailer. 120 max psi tires. When we tried to train his tpms, the truck horn chirps like it’s supposed to but no green check mark by the tire on the IPC in the dash. Any help or thoughts why we cannot get it trained would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t remember by symptoms, but I extended the receiver wires by about 12 ft, which allowed me to mount it between the axles. Worked fine after that.
One problem source that I have read is TPMS frequency not correct between truck computer and tires sensor. Don't know if this applies or not to your buddy.
What’s weird is we hear the horn chirp while releasing air in the trailer tire but no green check mark ✅ on the dash. That tells me something is sensing the tpms.

He mounted it on the hitch per the instructions. Where did you get the extension cable?
Update - He moved the TPMS module close to the rear axles and nothing changed. Still receive a chirp, but, no green check mark on the IPC. We are going to try my super duty and see if we can program it to that. Will report back later.
14 ply tires may be the problem. The same reason they didn't put TPMS in the F450 tires. I have 16ply J-rated tires and the Ford trailer TPMS but a commercial tire shop wanted $200 to dismount and remount my tires to install the Ford TPMS. They told me they probably won't transmit through the steel carcass so I saved my money. The trailer came with valve cap TPMS that works through a Bluetooth app and it works 90% of the time. The only reason it loses signal is because of the distance from my axles to my phone in the center console.
I'm seeing guys on here that have steel carcass tires and was able to make it work. What gets me is the horn will chirp which tells me that the truck is communicating with the trailer TPMS, but, no green check mark to go on to the next tire training. Weird....
Update: I connected my truck to his trailer and was able to train the sensors just fine. So, we now know its a setting in his IPC. I have downloaded a copy of his as built data sheet and found the trailer TPMS is enabled (720-09-01, xx*x xxxx xx-- If 4 change to 6). It was set at: 0062 1040 18FB. Not sure what else it could be? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
