It's cold here in Northern Utah in the mornings right now, about 25(F) so I use the remote start, from the app, for a few minutes- when I get to my truck the heater is NOT running. When it finally runs (after i put the key in) it's not blowing very fast even on high. After another 10 minutes ok it's starting to warm up nicely. This is a 2023 STX with 2,7 eco boost if that's anything- This is our first winter together. My first new truck in like 40 years FYI. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

Hi there. Feel free to send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

A few minutes is not enough to get all that engine coolant warmed up enough to provide heat to the cab. Give it a ten minute headstart and report back. Are you determining blower speed based on the touch button button (low, medium, high auto) or the toggle like lever below the button that has seven different blower speeds? (given, I don't know what environmental controls the STX carries on its dash)
There's more than one thing to think about here.
1) the HVAC runs at a different setting when it's remote started than what it reverts to when you jump in and turn the key. It may be running in full heat defrost mode before you show up physically, but then goes back to some other setting when you sit your jeans down.
2) the engine doesn't heat up very quick at idle, even fast idle.
3) you could have some kind of HVAC malfunction as well, but I'd focus on the first two first, because they are free ....
