1 have a 1990 7.3 idi that has sat for about 2years because the injector pump went out. I swapped it out with a used one that ran but could never get the truck to run so it was parked. And also installed new motorcraft glow plugs at the time.
I recently swapped out the mechanical pump as I was thinking it was weak and installed a faucet pump.
I Checked the glow plugs and they all are still good, glow plugs relay runs for 10seconds.
Have the tank drained(but and running the fuel from a 5gallon can for now).
The injectors are getting fuel with the pump running (cracked the line caps to bleed any air and fuel seeps out)
Charged up the batteries and did replace one battery.
But can only get the motor to crank and sometimes Huff alittle bit.
how fast is it turning over? there are two short videos of good starter and bad starter up in the stickies. a bad or weak starter with one weak battery and one new battery is enough to keep an engine from starting if there is air in the fuel system.
