I am wondering if I'm getting the run around here. The dealer says that the heater in the def needs to be replaced! And, that will fix my P0191 code! They said that the P0191 code is informational only. I've scoured the internet and Formus and this is related to the fuel rail pressure. How is that related to the def tank heater element? Can this really happen? Thank you in advance for your help.
I should mention this, to see if this helps add color to my predicament. I have a derringer, and that's where the P0191 code is being read from. When I discount the derringer and drive around... the check engine light does come on and relates to the def heater (not sure of the code but I was using the FORScan Lite on apple phone).
Always give details on your truck when asking these questions.
But, yes, fuel rail pressure sensor out of range is what comes up for that code.
Would have zero to do with the DEF heater, maybe the dealer is seeing something else.
