DOOR LOCK PLUNGER FIX
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...t-working.html
There were at least two people who responded that their door lock plungers were also not straight (like mine).
Digging into it a little, I had thought the rod at the top of the plunger was just bent. This pic is from a 2020,
but I assume the mechanism was mostly the same for 23's.
Everything seemed to work, and I did not think even with the dealer doing it, it was worth risking damage to door panels, so I was just going to leave it.
But as time went on, it went from one to three of the door plunger's, panel trim, being lifted off the door panel.
I was at dealer getting my wheel well liner installed, they left off at factory, so dealer went ahead and pulled off panels to take a look.
What he said is the door lock cables were not routed correctly at the factory, on 3 out of 4 doors. They put them back correctly and now
all my plungers are straight (and the trim is now fine). So if you have this issue, I would try to have it fixed, as it may not just be
cosmetic like I thought. Not sure if it will affect long term durability on door locks.
I did not see door panels off (can only go by what dealer said), and have never personally worked on SD doors. I assume it is one of these cables that was pulling on door lock plunger.

I had this happen after a door repaint where they had to remove the door handle. Was pretty obvious though, you’ll know.
