potential purchase

looking at and possibly buying 2008 f150 with the 4.2
havent personally seen it as its a couple hrs away
holidays and work have postponed a visit but gonna make it there next week.
seller says it has no problems

its running and driving and coming up on 200k

my biggest concern really is the body im prepared to deal with (possibly huge and expensive) surprises but i dont want any rust or rot
(I dont care if it just went thru ten hailstorms)

im in Texas and it looks pretty good from the pics but you know how that goes
Ive learned that if if looks good in pictures it may look good in person but not always
but if it looks bad in pictures...its hammered

so are parts plentiful and available?

sorry i know its not a lot to go on

the seller is asking about 5 grand

oh yeah its 2wd I hate the vacuum 4x4 iwe junk

i guess im kinda suspicious maybe im crazy but seems like a decent deal...idk

Is it two hrs like at the coast or two hours like up in the dry part? Probably makes a difference on rust. Although, 200,000 miles is a lot of ground.

Body parts will be from any 2008. Probably plenty in the wrecking yards. I see many 97-03's pass through my local yards.

Ford made some changes to the engine in 2005, like the intake manifold. But it looks like most parts are similar. You can browse Rockauto and other sites and see.
