Hello, I have a 1966 4x4, VIN code says F26 and 120 inch wheelbase. I have been looking for a bed and just to be sure, measure today and got 132 inches on the wheelbase, same as a F350......Is this common for the door vin and actual dimensions not match?
Just checked, the VIN on the frame is same as the door. We did some more looking and appears somebody added 12 inches to the frame, just ironic it came out to 132, same as F350. Whomever did it, did a good job! Now we know, probably why it had a flat bed on it.
Sounds like the flat bed came off of or was intended to be installed onto a F350.
Does it appear that the previous owner installed a F350 driveshaft too?
It came from a farm in Montana, not sure if a stock driveshaft or not. If we can find a decent bed, will take the 12 inches back out, or leave as is and build a flat bed.
