it broke way below the block.the part with the oring. Nothing to grab. The tappet broke off too. Anyone have experience getting it out? the piece that broke off is moving when i crank engine. im.thinking drill hole in aluminum with some sheet metal screws amd vise grips?
also where can i get a new tappet?
i have another pump but no tappet. engine is in a 97 van. i want to use for a dusted superduty but before i want to get it running and do compression test.
It must be a miracle but the thing actually ran for about a minute. it been sitting ten years in a muddy field. i dont know how it ran because pump is dead and the tappet is corroded seized in the casting.
the tank has no fuel in it it was rotted out! i didnt realize it until it ran and died then tried to put fuel in and nothing. i took peak underneath and it was dripping all over. must jave started with just what was left in fuel passages. also the fuel in bowl is black with a black gooey sludge on outside.i wknder if its oil in fuel or deteriorated rubber or oring.
