Can you tell me if the spindles on a 65 F100 would be the same as the F250? I'm looking at a F100 project that the seller said has had the axles swapped to make it a 3/4 ton. It has 8 lug wheels all the way around and looks to have a Dana floater hub sticking out of the back, which I would expect. I don't think the seller did the work, but bought a project and either lost interest or found himself over his head. I would want to put it back to 5 lug wheels and a 9" in back. I wasn't sure if the front end parts are unique to their series on a 65, or if the F250's just had different hubs, similar to the older years. Just trying to learn what I'm getting myself into. Thanks for your knowledge share.
Your best bet would be to swap the entire front suspension and disc brakes from a later model. I do not know if the spindles are the same, but I know 1965 kingpins were one year only and good drum brake hubs, 1964-67 are nearly unobtanium.
Fordification has some good tech articles on how to swap stuff. Technical Articles - Steering / Suspension / Brakes - FORDification.com
I used a kit from cpp on my 65. It came with new spindles, kingpins, rotors, calipers, etc... all bolt right on. Not sure if you are interested in disc brakes, but for the money, it was the best direction for me.
Hi BC99,
Nice set up. Youi said cpp offers what you did.
I have a '65 too. Drums all the way...for now. Have resisted going to front disks b/c I want to keep the twin I-beams. So many guys use a newer yr front end etc. to gain the discs. What'd it cost for what you did here please? I'd like cpp's contact info too please.
Thanks, Pete

All of my suspension is still stock. Their kit only swaps the new spindles and brakes. I got it on ebay.
Here's the kit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/285099735852
You'll need a different master cylinder as well.

Ty for your reply & info. I have a booster & the two ported mast. cyl. Hoping to use it again with the cpp parts. Would you know if that would work ? Are there five studs on the rotors? Need to keep my same 5 on 5-1/2" wheels. Thanks, Pete
PS...my original mas cyl. looked like the one on your truck. That was barely ok in Ga. where I used to live. Now on NC, I had the booster & two port mc put on. Works much better. Disc brakes will be the cats meow.

It should work fine. The one in my pic is the original m/c. I ordered a 2 port manual m/c. The kit I purchased from cpp is 5x5.5 lug pattern. Where in NC are you? I'm near charlotte.
I currently live in Asheville. Am moving to Weaverville NC. That is 12 miles north of here. Almost moved to my 16+ acres in Spindale. But have chosen to put it up for sale.
There are 14 acres of woods, the remainder is a small field & short pine trees (6'-8'). There is a 12'x12' concrete building with electricity in it.
Glad my present mc & booster will work. I've had my truck for nearly 41 yrs. Kinda fond of it. Ran a 240-6 for 39 yrs. put 169,000 miles on it. Went to a 300-6...What a difference. Am using the efi exh. headers. It really performs, now that it can breath so much better, instead of the one port exh mnfld. that was original.
That's all for now, again, TY for your thread and great the stud pattern is 5 x 5.5, like I need.
All the best, Pete

No problem, hope it all works out for you. If you really want to wake it up, check out Aces dueces wild efi. assuming your 300 is 2bbl carb? I'm running their killshot efi on my 65 when I get the engine back in it. You can check out my restoration thread on here.
The disc conversion would be on the top of the list for first mods. I wasn't sure if the I beams or spindles were the same for 100 and/or 250, to know what parts fit what. It's unknown how much the PO swapped to add the 250 hubs. Seller said the axles were changed, but there's no telling what that means, exactly.

I still have my stock spindles and stuff here in NC. So if you need part #s, pics or measurements, I will be happy to help any way I can.
I have used the holley sniper on my 64 galaxie and loved it. I'm building my general lee clone with it. I wanted to try aces on my f100. I have a local buddy that just bought the dueces wild for his 64 with a y block. But he hasn't installed it yet.
From my research, it seems that Aces took everything that holley did and improved it, and made it more affordable as well.
