Just picked up a 2023 F250 XLT Premium/Sport. Driver seat is powered, passenger seat is manual, both are heated. My wife & I agree the seats are not comfortable. I've tried every possible combination & can't find a comfortable setup.
These seats are not like they use to be cushioned might be worth a trip to an upholstery shop and see what they can do to be made more cushiony feeling.
I bought a used 2019 XL with Katzkin leather on them, both manual seats. Both are rock hard and uncomfortable. I am debating swapping with Lariat seats, or taking to an upholstery shop to see what they can do with my current seats. We will be doing some long trips and I need more comfort with 5 bad discs in my back. I will be following what others say.
I prefer the '22 XLT cloth seats to any other surface offered that MY. I will say that the padding (or something) could be improved. I drove my brothers Toyota Tundra and found the seats more comfortable. Going to a higher trim isn't going to help much.
With my seats and 67 year old body, I found there is a "sweet spot" between all the variables. If you can find it, the seat magically becomes quite comfortable.
If you can find it and some mechanic/valet/whatever doesn't move it.
My 22 with the el cheapo vinyl seats are okay, maybe I have the fortune of having an average shaped rear end that fits that default design. On the flip side I must be a bit under the target weight for my Crown Victoria because my hips often hurt on long trips in if I don't shift my weight positioning from time to time in the split front semi-bench seats.
It doesn't matter if they are cloth or leather both have the same inners. I've owned 6 F350 lariets since 2001. And usually put on 35k miles a year or so. I'm 6ft 2 " . When they went to 2017 they changed the seats big time. My 2019 I had to disconnect the lumbar as it was digging into my back when closed even. It was just a cable across the seat when tightened it was forced out. Nasty. Worse seats I've owned. The 2016 I had was the last of good seats I think. Hard, narrow, short in lenght all add up. I tried the new lay back down expensives one's Ford has now and they are hard etc still. They lay back all the way but who cares. I heard Chev is the same. People want bigger consoles, longer leg room in the back so this is what we get. Somethings got to give.
I find the seats in my 18 Platinum to be an upgrade over just about any other vehicle seat I've sat in. I have sciatica that causes my right leg to become painful after sitting uninterrupted in anything for over 90 minutes without a break. So when I was truck shopping, I placed a premium on the massaging seat option. With that option in use, I can handle about 3.5 hours before I need a break
