Now that I'm by myself, I have to cook. My objectives are simple -- spend little time in the kitchen, easy clean up and decent taste. If I want gourmet, I'll go out.
So, my old electric grill is just that -- old. I'm looking for a reasonably sized one that will do burgers, steaks and possibly chicken pieces. Steaks to include bone in. My current one is not good with those.
Anybody have a recommendation? I'm not seeing anything that looks too good -- Amazon's 'choice' has some big negatives for example. I'm hoping that some of you have
one that you really like.
Had to look that up to know it even exists lol. I've always used charcoal grills and only recently switched over to a gas grill which I didn't think I'd like but I love it. 1st time I'd heard of an electric grill, for outside cooking that is. Is there any special reason you wouldn't want a gas grill? Just hook up a propane tank and cook.
In the interest of full disclosure, the first TWO times I saw this thread I misread the title as "Looking for an electric DRILL" and moved on past.
I've had both charcoal and gas grills, and several wood smokers. I have to admit to liking the gas grill better than the rest.
Nearly 40 years ago, a friend and I had planned a trip to New Orleans for a football game. She flew into town ready to go, but a hurricane had formed in the Gulf and was threatening New Orleans.
The storm shifted East and we chose to not drive through it for the game. It came close enough to us that we lost power for an extended period, and friends from down the road had already converged on my place to dodge the storm.
Before we lost power, my friend had started dinner and had assembled a full lasagna. Suddenly, the entire neighborhood's dark and the kitchen is useless. We fired up the gas grill and baked the lasagna on the grill!
It tasted no different than a traditionally baked lasagna, but it's a great memory and one that we still retell occasionally.

I did that exact same thing, was about to rant on how great Milwaukee is just about the best!! Still is but that's conversation for another day, another thread!
We used Dewalt at work for a little while, they don't last. We switched to Milwaukee tools and have been using them for several years without issue. Dewalt is ok for home use, they suck for commercial/industrial use.
Glad I was able to give a little amusement in these somewhat trying times. I want a grill to use inside because I hate the mess of cleaning up my flat top stove. I'm in an apartment these days and I avoid the bleeping stove as much as I can.
Fire department also prohibits any open fires on the balcony, so even if I cook out there, it needs to be electric.
They have a big gas grill by the pool area, but I don't want to drag everything down there. Might do that someday for a party, but there's no signup so it's not always open.

I do have a bosch eletric drill -- which I am quite happy with -- but it doesn't do steaks
Ahhh now we know the rest of the story. Yeah apartment living blows. Too many restrictions and always worrying the neighbor might start a fire and burn everyone elses place down. In your case a George Forman grill might be just the ticket.
the unit like i posted above is smokeless, and leaves the "grill marks" .it also cooks much better than a george forman and will do a london broil size stake. it is 18 X18
