I got the "workstation" option in my truck too and agree that it's pretty worthless and in fact just limits access to the storage area. The limited swing / pivot makes it nearly the same as locked in straight. I'm constantly having to remove my drink from the front cupholder to slide that thing forward just to get access to the little storage bin toward the back. If you keep it forward, the other cup holders are way in the back and maybe more useful to rear seat passengers, but you can't use both front and rear cupholders at the same time.
Antoniodef - I'm curious as to what parts you have for a conversion. I'm real interested in doing the same to mine.

ML3Z-18644A22-BA Armrest Assembly $169.22 1 $169.2 - this piece is for gray leather. You can get cloth or different colors. I opted for leather so it doesn’t stain. The Bx at end is leather, Ax is cloth versions.

thanks for listing the part numbers for the conversion. How did you get rid of the workstaion warning light that comes up on the info center?
After trying to make the best of this pointless feature for almost a year now, I've decided to convert to a traditional console lid.
If anybody needs an intact grey cloth complete jump seat from a ‘20 XL PM me.
I pulled it out of my 2020 F250 when it had about 80 miles on it.
All or none.
Yup, the workstation is pretty useless. I got rid of mine but instead of ordering the parts from ford it was easier and cheaper to just order a new take off jump seat off ebay for about $200 and rob the parts off of that. Just posting this to let others know that's an easy option if they don't feel like sifting through ford part numbers trying to find the correct ones.
Update on the interior work surface! I took mine apart and found that Ford added a stop inside to keep it to that minimum ~10° angle, but it's still set up for full travel if you simply dremel out that plastic stop. It's quite easy to do, and mine works great now and will swing all the way out like you see in the promo videos. I'm guessing they re-thought that post-production because technically if you swing it to the maximum while driving (which would be stupid) your hand can't pass by to turn the wheel and could be dangerous. So do it at your own risk... legal CYA I guess...
Here is a thread which shows how to remove the top of the work surface: Work Surface Removal
Also, regarding the warning it gives you for extending the surface while driving... there is just one wire inside there and if you just disconnect it, it will not flash the warning. Easy fix for a stupid warning!
If anyone wants more details or photos, just let me know, but it's very simple to pop that top off and remove the stop. Hope it helps!
