142k documented miles, California truck most of its life, then NC. May have been re-engined at 90k according to prior owner (carfax seems to support the possibility)
What’s been done:
- Front calipers, disks and pads
- Rear drum shoes
- Brake Master
- Auto trans service and reseal
- Plugs, Cap, Rotor
- Newer Windshield
- BFG Mud KM2s ( I bought maybe the last new white letter Mud Terrains on the planet in 2020)
What’s Left to do:
- Resolve A/C slow leak
- Fix one rust hole: drivers floor (palm size)
- Sand and Paint
- New Bed Feet
- New Bed wood if you like, slight rot at tail
- Install 1993 seat (nice shape but was going to recover)
- Refresh interior (I have removed trim, have it all including exterior chrome windshield surround
- Shocks (deciding on lifting the front 2”, have spacers… vs reinstalling factory springs in back, someone put F250 leafs under it)
I have a factory cassette to go in and a perfect radio bezel. Also found a roll bar after watching marketplace for years. Also have a factory tach.
Every gauge works, everything is running great. Even cruise control.
Curious what I could get for it today as it sits, life has been busy and it’s been stored inside in my shop awaiting next steps. Driven on nice days on Lowes runs and sometimes to work. Thoughts on value?
Check the car selling sites and see what similar trucks are selling for. Area, condition, desirability are all factors.
As an appraiser, this is what I would do. Look for comparable vehicles, see what they sold for, and extrapolate.
How desperately do you need to sell it?
What is it worth to you?
If you want to dump it, put a lowball price on it.
If time is not an issue,.put a proud, full market price on it an wait for the best offer. No responses, take it off the market for a bit, lower the price a bit. Apply, lather, rinse, repeat.
The market will tell you what it is worth in your area.
And hope that there is somebody who remembers getting laid the first time in a truck just like yours.
great question. i have one i'm going through with one shot driver side fender and super clean inside. i got everything from "3500 is wayyy to much" on here to 10. there are sone old car auction sites where i've seen trucks like ours for 12 and up. there's one local in great shape, lifted and all for 25k privately and one 2wd sporty model locally for 23 and change. i'd say a safe spot for trucks like ours in their condition is 7-12
I mean I wouldn't be a cash buyer for the red one. But I'd trade a CX5 all wheel drive for it. It's relative. Some places 3k is a months rent. Some places it's 6 months rent.
