Well it feels good to be at this part of the build. My body guy is asking me if I want him to smooth out (grind & skim coat) along the corners of my new bed. He said the spot welds were factory but that I could make it look a little nicer. I'm doing a nearly stock build but is it worth is to go an extra mile (or $800) on this?
I do it all the time, but I don't charge $800 for it. If your shop wants that much for just smoothing the spot welds then I hate to think what they want to paint the whole bed. For $800 you could almost buy a Mar-K bed...their welds are flush.

We had a misunderstanding. He wanted my input on smoothing but would include it in his original estimate. Whew
