I understand that you may not gotten the answer you were looking for, but we are trying to steer you towards the best place for a rebuilt/new injector.
did you note that black cloud does not build his own injectors? He just sells someone else’s injector so you are paying for a middle man. With Jim, you are going to the source. No middle man. Again, just trying to help you avoid the same mistakes that others have made.
Respectfully, I would suggest learning a little more about injectors. Saying some is Stage 1.5 or Stage 1 or Stage 3.745 is arbitrary and does not reflect the performance of the injector and varies based on who you are talking to. A 160/0 or 180/80 are clear descriptions of fuel volume and nozzle size that are indicative of performance capabilities. This is important to match you needs with an injector that will fit those needs.
I would recommend looking at the turbo matrix in the super duty forum. It has a lot of good information on injector and turbo performance.
I'm about a week out from pulling the trigger on some stage 1.5 tow injectors for my 97 7.3 and I've spoken to both Chris at full force diesel and Gary with black cloud diesel performance, and I'm trying to decide which company to go with. FFD has lots of customers out there with good things to say. Gary with BCDP sounded very knowledgeable and was very easy to answer all my questions. I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience dealing with black cloud. They seem like a small business and I'd love to give them my support. I would feel better about it if someone could chime in about their experience. Thank you
Never heard of Black cloud.
Bad name EPA wise
Buyers of FFD has had a bunch of issues posted on here recently.
I have been here for many years like some of the others that posted.
Bitter Root Diesel had the claim of best injectors in the world until they went a more profitable route.
They recommended Rose Wood diesel going forward.
I passed on FFD injectors due to those stating on our forum that they have issues. I ended up getting Bitteroott 160/30's put only a couple hundred miles on and no problems yet. I also was able to get the hydra and KC stage 1 drop in with Bitteroott. All shipped to my door. They gave me $400 back on my used injectors. Originally I would have went with the FFD injectors because they were a little cheaper but these type of things are better to pay a little more for quality. Mathew from Bitteroott was willing to also spend time over the phone guiding me on the best choice of upgrades for the power I was looking for. Next, Marty's E-fuel (from their website) which they will ship to my door also. I live in a state that make things difficult to get things types of things.
CNC fab also does injectors and Corey' customers seem to be really happy. CNC will be whom I get my next set from. I'm not entirely happy with my FFD injectors and want to try a different builder to see if my issues go away when I go to smaller injectors
