Entirely depends on the place. I've listened to podcasts where the EPA has told shops they can service and work on a vehicle that has been altered, but if they have to work on the altered system they have to replace it with the emissions compliant parts again. If you're hoping to have something done under warranty - good luck.
Will dealers work on your truck if it's been deleted? Has anyone had any service denied or diag denied due to a delete ?
They won't do any service that would have to do with any part that would be included in the delete and tuning.
They have no base to work from on a tuned truck, anything they might do would just screw up the aftermarket tuning.
If you delete the DEF you also have to delete the DPF.
If you delete you need to have the tuner, tunes and the stock tune. You also need to keep all the parts so they can be put back on upon selling the truck or when the tunes no longer work right.

Is this actually true? I ask because starting in '08 they got a DPF filter, but NO DEF system. It is my understanding that they are two separate stand-alone systems that just both happen to be in the exhaust.
That said I'd say it is a good idea to do both at the same time...but I don't think it's truly necessary.
if you dont do anything with the DPF it will get clogged up and all that soot and pressure has to go somewhere so itll find its way back upstream. thats my understanding anyway.
It would be possible to do a DEF/SCR only delete and tune, but the tune would have to keep the DPF regeneration working.
It would also have to make the EGR system work way more than it would with the DEF/SCR system.
Fuel economy and power would be in the toilet with such a tune.
So, I've never seen anyone do this, no good reason to do anything less than a full delete.
But, IMO, no good reason to do a delete at all with a proper operating full emission system.

SCR and DPF are not separable. The EGR is the #1 reason to delete. The intake gets so choked up with soot it's ridiculous. VW takes their EGR gas post DPF in order to avoid this. Probably not practical in an application like our trucks but it's a great idea. From the trucks I've seen with 200k miles or more the intakes are reduced by at least 50% with soot.

Your thinking on deletes is like many others, about 12-15 years behind the current technology of the emissions systems.
Current trucks use so little EGR now, one reason why new trucks use so much DEF, so that they can use less EGR.
They always claimed on the Cummins that EGR would kill the engine, but my 2015 RAM Cummins still had a fully operating ORIGINAL EGR, that had never been cleaned or off the truck in over 614K miles.
The SCR can be done away with, but would take considerable work.
I'm sure the OP, who hasn't been back to comment further on this thread, has no real idea what is involved in any type of emissions delete or tuning, he's just heard lots of talk about it.
