New gasket

Interesting touch. It does give it a finished look. I don't think they are reproducing them - they are simply producing them. To reproduce something, it had to have been originally produced. I wonder how those will work with the hood trim on trucks so equipped since the trim butts up to the emblem front and back and that little bit of rubber would force a gap. Might still look ok.

MY father in law would have never and I mean never spent money for something like that from an after market company. I got the truck from him and I know I never bought anything like this. I was told once before that something on my pickup never existed (chrome plastic taillight bezels) and it turned out they did for a short time and I have 2 pair still in their boxes. But regardless as you said they are a nice touch.

Here's the drawings from the MPC. I'm showing the doors as an example of parts that did have a rubber gasket behind the door handles and the Custom Cab plate if a 1964 was so equipped. You can see the base part numbers were 22428 (Custom Cab and large door handle pad) and 22448 (small door handle pad). The radio antenna also had similar where the base meets the fender. Mirror slots had either a full plug if no mirrors in the slots or the slotted rubber plug if there was a mirror that used those. The bedside tool compartment had a gasket around the outside edge of the box to protect the bed, as well as a weatherstrip around the edge of the door opening and a rubber deflector up underneath the bed of the truck. But, hood had no rubber gaskets for those emblems. If they did Ford would have given them a part number as well.

Here's their video on those. The fact he says 'Custom' twice and no indication of "Licensed by Ford" or "Uses original tooling" mentioned is a good indication those aren't anything factory original. They need to make them for 1965 and 1966 oval emblems as well!
Here's their video on a part that is licensed and uses original tooling for comparison.

To be quite honest I really don't care if they are a reproduction or a brand new item that they came up with. If a new idea they are a fantastic idea whether Henry Ford came up with it or Dennis Carpenter did. I called them reproduced because I know for a fact that my emblems both front and side had them when I restored the pickup. I know I didn't order them from JC Whitney or any other after market source back in the day and I know my father in law would have never purchased anything like that and take the time to install them. He and I are the only owners of that truck since it drove off the Ford dealers lot. However the truck always set outside so it is quite possible that someone came along at night and put them on (perhaps Santa Claus). But with all that said I was simply bringing awareness to an item that would be very useful to someone doing a complete restoration and protect the paint behind the emblems. Sorry I tried to make a contribution!

I think it's a fine idea. Like I said before I think it gives it a finishing touch and they need to make them for the oval 1965/66 emblems, too. I'd buy some NOS if I could find some. Of course, then I'd need a part number to order it by. Since there is no part number it makes it pretty much impossible to even search for NOS pieces. Ford gave everything a number - that's how they categorized everything. Here's a couple of NOS parts. Not reproduced. They probably disintegrated on most trucks since they live underneath the bed. But I got the part number and searched and found two of them. C4TZ-9928067-A - only used on 1964-1966 with the bedside tool compartment. The original was still on my truck and not even in bad shape.
Carpenter also lists these new gaskets being discussed as being for 1963-1965. I believe the pins on the back side of a 1963-64 hood side emblem are in different places than a 1965-66 fender side shield type emblem.
