Windshield gasket

Howdy all. Wondering what the consensus is on using a sealant when installing new windshield gasket?

Years ago I used super weather strip adhesive when replacing windshields. Not sure about the sealant with the style of gasket on my 57?

Any thoughts?

I've never used a sealant on a rubber windshield gasket and never had any leaks. I don't suppose a good quality sealant would cause any issues if you want to use it.

Sealant is not required. I did use dish soap to help it go in easier though.

Lots of thing to do on older trucks............I think that they're never really done.
