I have a 2013 STX 5.0 4x4 super cab. Factory radio crapped out. Replaced with an el cheapo Android head unit. Everything works with the exception of the sound coming through the speakers. I think I need to hook a wire up to factory amp to power up. But I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated!
All steering wheel functions work. Powers on and off on startup and ignition kill after door is opened. GPS/maps work. Haven’t hooked up rear camera yet.
Well frankly I’m a firm believer in buying a quality brand head unit i.e. Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine etc. and components, with the belief you get what you pay for. Can’t say I even ever heard of that brand if interface, or head unit, it seems cheap though. I personally used the Maestro Idatalink interface with my Pioneer system in my truck, which has a amp turn on wire from the head unit to the interface that turns the amp on when the unit is powered up. So basically alls you do is connect the head units wiring to the interfaces wiring, then it all plugs into your factory wiring without having to cut into or splice into the factory wiring, so it makes it basically plug and play. https://www.idatalinkmaestro.com/en/products/maestro-rr Yeah it costs more but it’s design to work with your specific truck.
