electrical issue

i have a 95 f250 5.8 that has just started to have electrical issues. when i turn the truck off i won't be able to start it again until it sits for a minute or two. everything goes dead--even the radio loses it's settings. i tried jiggling the key and checked the battery connections and they are fine. the alternator is charging the system according to the gauge. anything i should be checking? Thanks.

The radio memory does not go thru the ignition switch. I say you have a bad connection at or near the battery.

i had a parasitic draw (i thought) so i got one of those disconnects that go on the battery post. each time i used the truck after that my radio settings were gone because the unit was disconnected from 12V. i just used the radio to emphasize the fact that my truck goes totally dead as if i disconnected the battery. One thing i should add is that the last time i drove it i accidentally pulled back on the turn signal arm (as if i were flashing the brights) and needle on the amp guage was twitching. could the multifunction switch case the 12V supply to go dead? Thanks.
