I have a '91 F150 4WD with the old V groove style calipers that keeps sticking and chewing pads. Does anyone know if a '94+ 4WD knuckle with the floating Caliper design would fit? I imagine I'd beable to just swap knuckles and calipers but reuse my rotors/hubs? If anyone has done this before or has any knowledge of a thread that has I'd appreciate it.
I believe that would work. You could double check that the rotor part numbers are the same. In the almost 30 years of owning these trucks, I have never had that problem. What are you using to lubricate the caliper pins?
I'm used Brake Caliper grease when I replaced the calipers/rotors/pads. A generous amount on both the knuckle, caliper, and slide pins. Only 1 pad, the outside right, likes to stick when the brakes get hot. I'm going to have to do balljoints soon so I figured I'd switch the knuckles/calipers over while I have it out. No downsides to the swap so why not.
