1.) Far less expensive to get a Flowmaster exhaust.
2.) It has been discussed on here that headers are not worth the time and trouble for the minnimal gains they provide. Plus the engine noise is unbareable inside the cab.
3.) You can upgrade your intake using a K&N or other similar intake kit, and losing the air box.
My opinion is that if you want to spend the extra money, and want the Banks sticker on your rear window, go for it. But similar if not better gains can be reached saving lots of money.
Like tyger said, you would be best off custom building an intake and exhaust system for your truck. That way, you can put the best bang for the buck into your truck. Besides, isn't it more fun to custom build than to buy already made?
You are absolutely right. I've spent the last few hours reading posts and I think I'm starting to lean toward MagnaFlow muffler(s) ... haven't decided on single or dual. I am looking for that deep throaty sound but I don't really want to hear it while in the truck (except when my foot is in the throttle).
I have MAGNA flows on my car , if I were you I would steer clear of them unless you like the sound of a glass pack , they sound so similar to a glass pack that it pisses me off . I have true duals 2 1/2" pipe with an H pipe and 2 Magna flow mufflers. And even if you do like the sound of a glass pack it is much cheaper to just buy a glass pack.
If you don't want to hear it in the cab stay away from Flowmasters. A buddy of mine put a Gibson single on
his Expy nice deep sound at idle, not to bad in cab when
under full pedal. Dan
the magna flows on my car have a constant humm pretty loud , at part throttle which is all the time except when coasting, you have to turn the radio up to 50 out of 62 to hear it
