Banks PowerPack system

I found a package from banks power that claims to give a 45hp gain and a 47 lb-ft gain to the 5.4. I was wandering if anyone had experience with the product and if it was all the site made it out to be?

go to spike.com and look up the show Trucks. last year they showcased that package on the F-150. if you watch the show, it was all b.s. they dyno'd the truck while the engine was hot (heat affects peak HP, hotter=less hp). I think they claimed it got 197 or 201 rwhp (sorry, too lazy to google it myself again)

I can believe the +45 hp claim if you go all out (exhaust, tuner, headers, intake)...but honestly, you'll most likely only get about 260 ish to the rear wheels. most F-150's can dyno out at 245-250 rwhp stock

all in all, I'd spend the money elsewhere.
$400 for Edge or Xcal Tuner
$100-500 for Dual Exhaust Catback
$250 for CAI
$500 for 4.30 - 4.88 gears

you can do all the above and have a real FUN truck...and still come in cheaper than the Banks power package. wasn't it about $2k

Actually if your going to do a true measure of the engines performance you HAVE to run the test with a hot engine. The only reading you will get with a cold engine is a sky high number that you won't be able to reproduce. For a consistant dyno reading (to get a true reading of the changes you made) the engine, coolant, oil, and driveline need to be up to full opperating temps. You won't be driving on the highway with an ice cold engine. Also the Banks Power Pack system with Ram Air intake, Torque tube headers, Monster cat back dual exhaust and Ottomind programmer is about one hundred dollars more then your list and installation can be done at home with basic hnd tools. The gain at the ground is 45hp and 47lb-ft.
