I’m not the brightest guy but today I learned if I take the four nuts off the drivers seat base and removing the seat that engine access is tremendously improved. Replacing the engine cover will also be easier. I’m sure taking out the passenger seat will also help (I just didn’t) NoooooWayyyyy

I am putting a removable seat base bracket in my 89 Econoline for the passenger seat, can't get the engine cover off with it in the van, my driver seat base is a wheelchair conversion, seat slides back two feet.
Not sure how this works on anything before 1997 with the Modular Motors but this isn't a new thing at all. For me removing just the passenger seat was enough.
I've long, long ago recognized removing one or both E-Series front seats greatly increases engine access from inside the cabin. I did this for any work on the engine behind the front two spark plugs. The T-55 Torx PLUS socket, an 18mm medium depth socket and you're good to go. I do use anti-seize on the Torx head bolts before re-installing them.
Next time please list your chassis year and engine type.

I can tell you my 89 has the passenger seat out, and will remain out until I get done with it, can't get the stupid engine cover off otherwise, Ford really didn't take servicing anything in consideration, tho the dumb trucks built today require lifting the cab off for many repairs, so they still aren't concerned with making things easy.
I remove the Passenger seat, 2 nuts and 2 bolts, its quick & easy. the drivers seat has electrical, mine has a large battery kill switch in it as well.
