Gotta question for you all? I found a 2010 F350 with 200,000 miles on it. The owner tells me that the previous owner had the truck studded, and deleted. What else could be a danger in have a truck like this. I wanted to get into towaway, but cant buy anything over 18K. All I'll have in a couple of weeks is roughly $12G but that doesn't seem to be enough when your credit score is shot. Im signing on with synergy.
just wondering.
thank you in advance,
MNBenny

Reason: I wanted to include why I'm looking at truck like that
Mostly likely, although gassers can get headstuds too and have their EGR deleted.
I own a 2010 f250 that used to have a 6.4PSD in it, it has a Cummins in it now. I’m decently familiar with the platform and while everything besides the engine is great, it is severely let down by the crap-static 6.4. Mine cracked a piston right on que at 180k miles ( also deleted, but not studded).
…
I would suggest to OP that he avoid the 6.4 PSD unless he's got money to spend. Yes, there are some good ones out there, but since you KNOW this one was already studded and deleted, one can presume (it may not be correct but it's better to be safe) that the truck was run hard by someone for a long time and is a potential ticking time bomb. I, for one, would not want to spend 18k on a truck and have to sink another 10k into it in a few months.
I would suggest that OP look for either a V10 or a 6.2 in the 13+ trucks to get into what he's wanting to do.
Just reading through the OP's posts gives me the impression he WANTS a truck for "cheap" and "reliable". Just unsure of what his intended use will be before being able to answer his questions. If his previous consideration was a 22 year old truck with almost 300K miles leaking oil or another identical truck with half that mileage but with coolant mixing with oil, something gives me the impression his budget is not very high.
