Keyless entry module

Good morning Ford Enthusiasts. I have a 1997 ford F-250 and its my first vehicle (im 18). I am just getting into mechanics so i dont know anything but i want to learn more. Anyways… im wanting to program a key for my truck but i dont know if my truck is equipped with keyless entry, and i dont want to take apart the dash to find out.

When watching others program their key on YouTube, they use a gray connector which they short out by putting a screwdriver or metal object to the pins.

I found this gray connector which looks like the one in the videos, but im not sure if its the keyless entry control or if this is a door ding module or something else etc. I just want to know so that i dont short out the wrong thing and cause permanent damage to the vehicle because i really dont know what im doing.

So simply put, my question is: Is this gray piece the keyless entry module control/connector thing ?

Is this gray piece the keyless entry connector ?

Thank y’all for taking the time to read my post

These are two photos i found online while trying to do some research. I don't know if they will be helpful at all.

My connector is not taped to the wires like in this photo which leads me to believe that my photo is not the keyless entry.

No, the connector shown in your first post is not the correct one. Refer to the subsequent photo.

Also, watch this video for the correct information:

Good luck and keep on learning!
