Ok the build sheet on my truck shows to have a keyless entry. I am going to buy a KEY FOB at the dealer and have them program it. question is, how can I be sure there is in fact a keyless entry on my truck ( 97 F250) I had a after market on the 91 I had but i malfunctioned so much the PO. disconnected it and I removed the whole system. Where is the sensor for the keyless entry.
The dealer has to order it, it has to paid for before they will order it and if it the trucks is gone, not working, etc... they will not return the FOB
As per alldata the remote keyless entry receiver module is located behind the instrument panel on the lower left hand side... there should be three connectors and an antenna connection. The easiest way to find out if your truck has it is enter program mode for the module. To enter the program mode you have to turn the ignition switch from off to run five times within ten seconds ending with it on the run position. The door locks will cycle confirming that it's in program mode... if they cycle then you have keyless entry... if they dont then it might be broken or not there... hope that helps.........
I put a bulldog brand remote start on my cherokee, love it. It has remote unlock that works way better than the oe did, you had to be right up on it but the a/m remote worked from inside the house. Its nice to go out to a warm vehicle or cool it off in the summertime for a minute
