I ordered one from the dealer, and when it came in, I looked under the hood and was embarrassed to find that it came with one. It is quiet as a whisper. '23 KR 6.7.

Help Protect the hood paint I guess, Made no difference in sound on mine, Oh it also has a cool ford stamped on it ... use up some ford pass rewards

They are designed to reduce engine noise, they have nothing to do with paint protection. As engine noise was reduced to acceptable levels over the last few years, Ford decided they are no longer needed. Maybe they are putting them on the new trucks with the HO engine as it may be considerably louder.

So far on the '23 I have only seen the liner included on KR and up, both SO and HO 6.7l. Haven’t seen under the hood of a 7.3l KR and up but I expect that they include the liner too.
