I had some hail damage and had it fixed. Is there a liner under the hood ? It came back without one and just doesnt look right. IDK Maybe I am wrong and there wasnt one
My 2017 has 80% of one. They look like crap when the squirrels get to them. Apparently that are great nesting material.
Even when critters don't get into them, they start to look like crap over time, especially if you live somewhere wet - the material gets wet, sags, gets warmed up/dried out, gets wet again, sags more, dries out and gets brittle, then starts to flake off.
They're really there as a sound deadener more than anything, they DO protect the hood paint to an extent (from heat) but honestly I've never seen a vehicle that DIDN'T have one that had hood paint issues.
