I have a 2017 F-250 xl with the 6.2 gas engine. I was driving along and the truck was running fine. When I let off the throttle the truck went to idle then shut down. I could not restart unless I held around half throttle, the truck would start but was missing terribly. Once the throttle was released it would stall. Among the random misfire codes, I had a code of P2282, Air leak between throttle body and intake valves bank 1
I have searched the forums and the internet but have not found any relevant information for this truck. Has anyone had an experience with this code?
Air is getting into the intake downstream from the throttle body. The way it suddenly happened would point to a vacuum hose that somehow failed or came off.
That is where I would start. Look for the source of the air leak.
Thanks for the reply! I looked it over fairly well and did not see anything obvious as far as vacuum hoses cracked or off. But I will double check. I did find some information that it could possibly be the PCV valve.
There was damage to the cylinder and piston. Replaced the engine with a new ford engine. $11,500. This is a work truck that needed to be back out in the field. We are having trouble getting replacements, so they opted to fix. We currently have 13 brand new trucks sitting due to recalls on axle shafts...
How many miles did you have on the truck? Tonight I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden got a misfire. Pulled over and immediately stalled. Wouldn’t start unless I held the gas down and was also missing terribly. Have misfire codes and the P2282 air leak intake code. My truck is a 2019 with 36k miles. Really hoping it’s not a valve spring.
