hello, so i just got a 96 xlt f150 4x4 5’8 and im looking for some nice rims and what wheels i should get. i want around a 17 or 18 i wanted to get some tis or kg1s but i dont want pavement princess rims lol so give me suggestions bc i genuinely dont know what to get i know i kind of want want chrome.
I agree. OEM Alcoa are really nice all polished up. Direct fit, no worries on finding the correct back spacing / off set, or tire sizes, spacers, etc etc.
There are places on line that sell them re conditioned ready to go.
Any modern style "rims" like those mentioned equate to the opposite of what these trucks are, and are perfect if you want to be laughed at when you drive by. Get some nice 15 or 16 inch wheels and keep it a real truck. OEM Alcoas, or the Baja style from Mickey Thompson, American Racing, Eagle Alloy etc, or better yet old school Welds.

I was thinking of some method racing wheels. maybe a 17 or a 16 i think they are pretty good and yes that’s what i want to do lol all my friends have wheels over 20s. ive seen quite a few method wheels on obs and they seem to look pretty good lol but again idk ty for the advice and pls tell me what u think of these https://www.methodracewheels.com/col...iant=349582239
Dodge still runs 5x5.5 on the 1500s up into present day or of not to present day then damn close to it. You can get everything from 16-20.
I'm a big fan of having tons of sidewall. Unless you're trying to get around a track quickly there's just sooooo many benefits to a small rim and larger tire.
That said, I'm a bigger fan of old men who are stuck in the past being made to look like fools. So get yourself some 17s or 20s from a Dodge/Ram 1500. If you stick to chonky OEM and OEM looking wheels you should be able to find something that looks good and is very strong. The other benefit to 17 and 20" wheels is those are sized that modern super-duties run so half used tires are much more readily available.

Wouldn't put those on a truck if they were free. Sorry.

Dang. Somewhere out there an otherwise perfectly good Subaru WRX or Nissan G thirty whatever the kids drool over now, is missing its wheels. They look like they would crack in 37 places when hit by a stiff breeze
