Does anyone know where I can buy a complete OEM suspension for my 2003 Excursion 4X4? Looking to remove my lift and go back to stock as I'll be taking long road trips in it and want the drivability.
I have the rear springs, the front track bar and one front spring sitting in my scrap pile (cut the other front spring up to use as steel for making a bumper).
If you wanna drive to Texas, I’ll give you the suspension stuff and swap you the rear seats, because again, shipping would be stupid expensive.
…
You really don't want an OEM suspension. Just look at all the threads on here regarding replacement of OEM suspensions. I'd recommend the @pirate4x4_camo ProComp setup. If you want it slightly softer, then remove the bottom leaf from each pack. The shims provide the needed 5 degree caster and make the EX drive like a 'normal' vehicle...no more sloppy wandering all over the road. Best mod by far IMHO!
No idea what “lift” you have but a proper suspension setup with 4” of increased ride height will increase available wheel travel and greatly improves drive ability over stock.
it very likely your driveability is due to worn out steering, suspension components and bad alignment setup rather than being caused by uour “lift”

That is some good information. Thank You. The rear suspension hits something when the weight its placed on one side. When i leave my driveway I have to turn right and go up hill, that initial turn when all the weight it placed on the left rear causes something to hit/rub.
The other reason to lower the vehicle is ease of getting in an out of it. Its going to me a road trip vehicle for the family. My in-laws are in their 70's so climbing in and out would be challenging for them. Plus i just feel on the highway if I had to swerve to get out of trouble a lower vehicle would perform better.

Can you elaborate on "a proper suspension setup with 4” of increased ride height will increase available wheel travel and greatly improves drive ability over stock." I'm not understanding how that would help. Thanks!
Add a lift in a lot of causes improve the drive as you are putting on better parts like shocks, spring rates and etc. then again better is always different for others.
so it depends on why you think the drive ability is bad now.
why do you think it drives bad now? What lift is on it? Check to see if they used blocks to lift back or springs.
i would keep the 4inch lift and just resolve what issues your having.
Hey Bob,
I was trying to find where I posted on some old threads when I did my swap but couldn't find them .
Here is my Excursion when it was lifted.
Here are all the parts I gathered to bring it down to a modified stock. I went with the modified B codes in the rear with v codes up front. I purchased all my leaf springs and u-bolts new from Ford. I had to find a set of Excursion springs so I could modify the b-code springs I got from Ford.
