ECU/PCM question
I have a 99 F250 S.D. with a 6.8 V10 in it which I have owned almost since the day it was made. It has always been a great truck as I used it for my business and also for just a around the town vehicle. Over the years like any other vehicle it has had its little issues and in 99.9% of the cases have been simple to fix for me. Now I am having an issue with it and I am pretty well lost as I am not able to figure this one out as of yet. I have been getting codes, P0402, P0443, P0455, P1401, P1409 and P1409 and going thru them one by one and researching them to find out the causes and the fixes but it is like a continuous thing and after doing the repairs they keep coming back and the truck just is not running 100% correctly. My question now is is it possible the ECU/PCM has taken a dump ??? I mean after going thru all these codes and replacing all these parts, many of them a couple of times, I am just wondering if this could be an onboard computer issue and if so is there any way possible to test it and see if it is really the problem ?? Or maybe there is something else I may have missed !!! I have had it at a couple of pretty reputable shops here where I live and no one has been able to figure this one out so this was my next step in the process. So any info that can be provided would be appreciated !!! Thanks in advanced
Looks like you have two issues. One is in your EGR system, the other in your evap purge valve system. The evap system normally doesn't affect driveability. The EGR issue can make the engine run rough.
