No Spark

Hey all, not sure what to do, was cruising down the road the other day in my ‘67 F250 and I lost engine power. Seems like I’m not getting any spark. Possibly something shorted? Engine does turn over. Has a newer distributor that has the coil on the top of the distributor cap. Didn’t notice it before, possibly because it wasn’t already there or since the truck is new to me, but the wire from the soloniod to the starter was burnt a little. I replaced that and still no spark. Keep in mind I did have power through this whole ordeal. the engine was able to turn over the whole time. Below is my distributor set up. (Yes I know it’s unplugged, I did that so I could inspect the coil, looked fine from the outside when I opened up the top.)

I would start by checking for power to the plug for the distributor. If no power at plug, trace power wire back until you find power. If you have power at the plug, the distributor is to blame.

Check power to the distributor, if good then test coil. If that ohms out good then change the hei module. Anymore those are known to go bad. I install them on my golf cart. The house brand/chineese brands are all garbage. I've had good luck with an Accell one lasting a few years. I think it's on the performance wall at Oreilly's.

What are those electrical plugs hanging down and not connected to anything??
If it were mine, I would take that Chineseium, Chevy looking distributor and throw it into the nearest trash can. I've had two of those brought to me that the centrifugal advance mechanism had striped the splines. Buy yourself a Pertronix distributor or a stock points distributor with a Pertronix in it and drive on knowing it ain't going to break.
