I’ve had a 6.0L F250 for 10 years but the rust is out of control. Tried to get another one, but ended up with a lifted F350 long bed crew cab 6.7L, so I’m moving over here. The F350 is 2-3 feet longer than the F250, which already turns heads in Europe, be interesting to see the looks for this one.
We have a small farm in France and a house we’re doing up in Germany and need something that can take a europallet of building materials or a couple of tons of loose materials like sand, so an F150 just doesn’t cut it. Also, towing over mountains is so much nicer with the diesel.
I’m hoping for the same reliability as with the F250 - despite 6.0L it’s done good.

congrats! We're in the south of France this past June. You are right, the truck will turn heads! Not a lot of pickups to begin with, but the ones you do see are the smaller ones. Seems like diesel was about €1.50 a litter when we were there.
What year did you get? If it is the newer aluminum then get a spray in bed liner and put in a bed mat. Dee Zee makes a heavy duty one.
good points, I’ve heard the CP4 is quite particular about fuel.
Yes, from the condition the bed looks like Alu, it’s been sprayed but I need the bed mat too. I’ll take a look at Dee Zee.

They certainly do, it’s very difficult (or at least expensive) to get them registered. I’ve never seen anything bigger than an F150/RAM1500 on French plates. I also have a Fargo F1 - basically a Dodge C1 - on French plates and that took nearly a year 🙉
that price was a bargain, now even more expensive…

You might want to look into a S&S DPK Gen 2 kit to install into the fuel system for added insurance... It protects the rest of the fuel system if the CP4 goes out.

hey the fuel over there is better then the diesel fuel in the usa. The CP4 was design designed for EU Diesel. I have a lot of miles on the CP4 with no issues(150 to 200k miles) My insurance will also cover the replacement of the CP4 so I just don't worry about it. I have not seen any large pickup in europe, So I image is does get looks.
the 6.7 should be much more reliable then the 6.0 diesel. HAVE FUN

From what I've read, it has more lubricity (lower HFRR scar wear rating : 460 vs our 520), higher cetane but still is a hydroprocessed fuel which my research has shown to increase the fuel's ability to absorb water. And according to this, they still put bio-diesel in their fuel on the other side of the pond. So IMO, moisture is still a concern.

What does that work out to like $6 a gallon or so? If that is the case it is less than I thought it would be. Not cheap but heck I have paid more for it here.

yea, i might have been a bit low. Seems like was closer to $8 a gallon.
Price is around $8 per gallon. I suppose you could call it a trade-off if I drank enough wine 😁🍷
We live an hour north of the champagne region and our summer party gets through a dozen or so bottles, life could be worse 😎
Very good!! We spent 2 weeks at an airb&b on the Med there, mostly in Carry-le-ruet, but drove up into the Alps, near Gap to Pont de Savines and coastline east into Monaco, and just into Italy. South France is a beautiful area! You have vineyards everywhere, like we have cornfields in our area in the US
It is beautiful, and it’s not bad in the north either, I’m about as far as you can go before falling into Belgium.
if you’re in Italy again try and take a trip around the Valpolicella region, also beautiful, and make sure you pick up some wine. The amarone and ripasso are outstanding, and only produced there.
