Electrical problems?
Hi everyone, my 87 f150 2wd granny 4 speed won't start. The previous owner had a button wired to the solenoid to start it but whenever you push it the solenoid will click and then the battery just shuts off. The engine also shut off while driving and I was able to coast into the driveway and it's sat there ever since. What do yall think, thanks in advance

I know you had the battery out when you took it to O Reilys, But i would take the battery cables off the battery posts again and make sure the inside the cables where they hook onto the battery posts and also clean the outsides of the battery posts and then make sure they tighten up properly. Also clean the other side of the battery cable that hooks onto the negative battery post. Make sure the connection on the fender mounted solenoid where the other end of the positive battery cable meets all the other wires is clean and tight That should solve your loss of all battery power problem..

The ignition actuator broke or possibly the switch was on its way out so they rigged it to start instead of actually fixing the problem.
