Snow tires plow truck 6.7
Snow tires plow truck 6.7
Looking for recommendations on a snow tire for plowing with my 6.7 won’t be driven on the road very often . These will be strictly winter tires. I have an another set of rims for the summer. Maine Winter!
I bought these and will post up a new thread once the snow is flying and I'm driving with them...

They are having a buy 3 get 1 free sale now... free shipping.
They look to be a copy of the BF Goodrich KO2...
I've never used them before but for the money, it was worth a shot... I bought them with the "Winter kedge" rubber mix... it has ground up glass and walnut shells mixed into the rubber.. there's a more thorough explanation on the link there...
I've also always had luck with Cooper truck winter tires as well... The current Cooper winter truck tire is the Snow Claw which I liked... but now that Good Year has bought out Cooper, I don't know if they still offer that tire.
Another good tire is the Falken AT3W which is an all terrain tire with the "snowflake" on it... the Severe weather rating that winter tires get. My buddy's been in the tire business for 25 years and he ran them on his truck when he had it plus sells a lot of those Falkens.
Here's what I paid for my set this summer...
Cooper Discoverer STT Pro.
I have these mounted on a second set of rims, and I have used them for the last two seasons. Last winter I faced deep snow up in the mountains, and initially everyone in camp (including me) had to chain up on all four corners to tow our trailers into camp. Then we ran around in just our trucks for a a few days while keeping chains on. The big difference came a few days later when I was able to get around without chains while everyone else had to stay chained up.
I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Nice thing about the STT Pro's is you can still drive them around on the road. I keep these on my truck from Nov to around March, and I drive them around town more than up in the snow and mud. Sure is nice having an aggressive tire for off road.
That’s too bad. I found a set of OE 18” rims that a guy took off his truck right after he bought it. He went aftermarket rims with bigger tires. I got the set of 4 for $200! So you might keep your eyes on CL or other local listings for a good set of 18’s.

I got you beat... Mine were free but I have spent a lot of money at buddy's shop -- he gave them to me... With sensors. But 200 bucks is cheap for a set for sure...
Hey Mike, so how many miles do you go between rotation of those SST Pros?

I don’t rotate bases on miles. I just rotate them each time I put them on in the Fall. I put much less than 5,000 miles on them each winter.
That's good then... Now that I bought a Flex 24v torque gun last year, since I don't have air, I can rotate tires myself... My truck has hammered two sets of snow tires, more so in the rear, because I let them go a little past 5k miles.. Before rotating. Once those Treadrights are on, I'm rotating every 3k miles to get as close to the 30k miles they are rated for... This is the first time doing it every 3k for me. So snowing or not, I'll be out there rotating them.
